On Wednesday evening, a fire occurred at our Takanini depot.
Our team evacuated the building safely and there were no injuries to our staff, neighbours or emergency responders.
However, the Takanini site is unusable and no items from the building have been recovered.
We are heartened and grateful for the messages of kindness and support that we have received overnight.
Our attention now turns to maintaining operations in the short and medium term. We have extensive emergency and disaster procedures in place, which have been activated.
The disruption to our freight schedule has been minimised as much as possible, and freight collections are expected to resume for all customers by the end of this week.
We are in the process of identifying a new Auckland premise and will have an update on this shortly. Our technology and communications have resumed this morning.
